Watering down the Puritans
Guess what Jesse found in the bathroom after Kathrynne's bath tonight?
You'll enjoy Jesse's post with the complete story.
So, I have to ask, what interesting things have your children said or done this week? I could write a book about Kathrynne's antics from just this week. Life is most certainly never dull.

Well, there is a girl who will like to soak in the tub with a good book as she gets older, and at least she has good taste in books! (I think I recognize it...)
This reminds me of the time my then-3-year-old brother Dylan dropped my great grandmother's Bible in the toilet while trying to (of all things) *weigh* it on the bathroom scale. So, there's a bright side: at least your water-logged literary treasure was not a family heirloom! :o)
I keep a journal for each daughter and write down all of their funny little sayings and things they do. It's hard to keep up, lol, but should make for great memories when they are older.
This week, my 3-year old Emma has been full of the "why? why? why?" questions. Here's a sampling:
Waking up before sunrise: "Mom, why is the sun not up yet?"
Questioning my fashion choices: "Why are you wearing those black socks? They don't match your red shirt."
At a meal: "Why do I have to eat this food? Is it gluten-free?"
After I have asked her to clean up her toys: "Why do I have to clean up my toys? I'm still playing."
And the best: "Why are you tired? Did I wear you out?"
Just wait until she wants to start signing her name on things....we've found E-M-M-A written on several things around the house... :-)
God Bless....
My son, Nolan, took my Bible and shredded a lot of the pages. Of course, this had to be the Bible where I kept all my sermon notes, all our family memories, all my research work... yeah.
I put the whole thing in a baggie... what else could I do. I suppose if I had a few minutes (ha) I could tape the whole thing together...
Sorry to hear about the book!!
By the way you were asked some good questions-have fun answering them.
I am sure you have encouraged many young moms to have a daily schdeule.I am impressed from it and hope you will be able to keep it.
oh goodness! If you take a few hours and a blow dryer you can actually dry each and every page. the pages come out a little wrinkled, but still usable- not that I've had to do that before or anything... :)
Do you really want to know what they've done this week? ;) My 3 YO had a wild week...at some point she drew on a wall with a permanent green marker. She ate an orange and put the peels in a plastic video case. Then she gave her 14 month old sister a haircut on Wednesday. I think I need a clone to keep up with her!

With wee one caused "flood" or with regular floods, wet books can be restored (not to perfect condition, but to readable condition). If you can't deal with it right away toss the book in the freezer. A frozen book will do okay until thawed. Here are directions for drying: http://www.extension.umn.edu/info-u/household/BK263.html
This is a project, freeze the book until you have the time to do this properly.
These directions assume it is caused by a "real" flood. A bathtub dunked book probably does not have any hazardous materials and thus does require gloves.

Verry funny! As I enjoyed this post I realized I should check on my daughter who had been quiet. I found her sitting on my bedroom floor in a pile of tissues that she just pulled out of the box.
When our oldest was 1 1/2 he threw away our new digital camera into the trash can. My husband was looking for it and we concluded that Joseph had thrown it away(he loved to do that). That day was trash day so I had to go into the big trash can and dig. Fortunately, it was in one of the top bags. It was in the case so it was fine. I can't say the same thing for case it was covered in frosting. :)
I saw this and remembered a post I did about what my son did just couple of weeks ago. Here's the link:

Awww, so sorry to hear about the book's latest condition. Maybe you all need to get a locked bookshelf. :)
You have to give the girl credit, though: she has impeccable reading taste. ;) What a darling lass.
I have that same volume on my shelf. In fact, I think I ordered it from you all a few months back. I thoroughly love it. I think I have read over half the prayers in it. My favorite way to use it is to read one or two each night before I fall asleep.
I have to ask though, where did Kathrynne get the idea of taking a book with her in the bathtub?! ;) Is that the only time and place you can find to read privately? ;) *wink*
My son wrote I love you mommy Love Eric on the wall and then denied it was him! My other daughter got into my jewelry box during her nap and I found her sleeping with all of it on! And my oldest dug up her hamster and put it in her coat pocket...only to have us find it the following seasons! My children make me laugh so hard, I cannot even imagine how quiet it will be when they are all grown up! I pray there are many, many grandchildren nearby!
I was sympathetic at the story, and became even more so when I saw the book!
I am an avid "bathtub reader" and I'm always afraid I will drop it while reading!
We went on a hike with our kids (ages 3, 2, and 1) this past weekend. When we were finished and driving to dinner in the van, my oldest daughter said, "Mommy, I like this way much better." :)
The boys are always doing something to make us crack up....especially my three year old! He can be so funny. one thing lately he does often is if he is doing something he probably shouldn't be, he calls out, "Mom, I am doing nothing!"
Jesse-
I remember one time as a young kid I thought I would lounge in the tub and read a book. My mom found me and told me how silly I was for trying to do that. I hear her words everytime I go book in tub lounging now!
(sorry I couldn't leave it on his blog because I don't have a google account)
