Because I'm sure you need to eat more chocolate this time of year...

I made some of the world's easiest Christmas candy last night. Did I mention that this stuff is really good and really addictive? If only it had some nutritional value, too!

To make up for all the chocolate we've been eating, I made some delicious spinach tortillas.

I think I'm going to make the candy tomorrow night. I'm supposed to take 2 doz cookies to a woman's gathering at the church for an exchange and needed something that wouldn't take much time put together. This looks like it will do just perfectly and it look amazing. To get 2 doz "cookie size" pieces, do you think a single recipe or a double would be better?

Thanks!

Okay, this is bizarre! I totally made this candy tonight a few hours before reading your blog post. Got the recipe out of a book of desserts by celeb chef Paula Deen.

It IS easy and it IS delish!

Hi Crystal,

In PA we call this "Brutzal Bars"
Brutzal means boiled. You can also sprinkle crushed nuts or sprinkles over the chocolate. It is a great candy to make in a shap!

You can always feel better about eating chocolate when it's accompanied by a side dish of spinach!

My sister has made that candy recipe before...and it seems just about my speed (no need for a candy thermometer or trying to figure out what "stage" the mixture is at).

This is also a recipe my kids could help make pretty easily.

Actually if you make with dark chocolate, it is reasonably healthy! As long as you don't go hog wild!

I've made that candy every year for the past few and it is always a HUGE hit! We call it "toffee bark" - it's soo easy and makes tons. Perfect for gifts or to bring to gatherings. It's also great topped with some crushed toasted almond sprinkles!

I forgot all about that candy! A couple of kids from our youth group last year would make this and it was out of this world! I will have to make some of it this year. Thanks for the recipe!

Well i made that up this morning and It's pretty good. I didn't have enough chocolate chips so i used half chocolate and half butterscotch. so one side was just chocolate and the other butterscoth. Taste's pretty good. Thanks for the recipe. That one is going in my recipe box!
Blessings!

Ah yes,
the world's easiest Christmas candy
I've tried to make it twice
I've burnt it twice
(really, I just can't figure out if it's done or not... and then suddenly, it's black)

it is called the WORLD'S EASIEST Christmas candy

and I've ruined it TWICE

I'm so proud of myself

Do you think this (the candy) could be made with wheat saltines? (That's what I have in the house, and I thought it would make it a little healthier.)
