Day 3 of the Challenge
Well, today it seemed like everything went opposite to what I'd planned.
I stayed up too late last night so then I got up late this morning and didn't have my little bit of quiet before both girls were up and raring to go. I spent almost an hour on my massive laundry pile this morning in between caring for the girls, but I didn't manage to get it all finished. Then to top it all off, my camera battery died so I have no pictures to show of today - though there wouldn't have been many anyway!
Instead of looking at what didn't happen, I'll try and focus on the positive here. I had a refreshing time with the Lord, I did get my hair washed and myself looking presentable (complete with shoes, make-up, and apron!), and I also spent some real quality time with the girls - reading, laughing, talking, listening, and learning together. That's more important than any cleaning or organizing to me.
In other accomplishments today, we did a quick pick-up of the house, ran about five loads of laundry, folded all but one of those, made some fresh juice for breakfast, and made no-bake cookies and lasagna casserole for dinner. Oh and I finished filling out and signing all the paperwork for my life insurance - something I've been meaning to get done all week.
So in spite of the fact that I only accomplished a small portion of what I was hoping to today, I'm grateful that I made some good progress on the laundry and I'm also grateful we didn't lose much traction today in regards to the house. And, tomorrow is a new day!
I haven't had a chance to sit down and look at many of your posts today, but the ones I saw were great. Keep it up, gals! I'm so impressed. Hopefully I'll have more to report for tomorrow's challenge!

I didn't make a lot of progress with the challenge today either Crystal but like you, I did get other things done that were higher on my list of priorities :)

I think the children are the more important priority also... I have really loved this challenge and in some ways, its helping me keep order to my day and see it more "purposefully"!
Thank you! Leanne
What a wonderful accomplishment -) to not miss the little opportunities with the little gifts in your home. When I was a young mom, I focused on getting things done, trying to have a perfect home, etc., etc., and I missed out on so much of what my two little girls were about.
My message to younger moms today is to do exactly what it is that you did and you tell young moms. I applaud you and ...well, 'internet roses to you. . . .'
Yesterday, God allowed me to recapture some of those moments with grandchildren. I gave my 5 year old my digital and let him "have at it." He took 120+ pics. As I looked at the pics, I got to see the world through a 5 year olds eyes...and...I went to be a different woman. I never saw, before, how wonderful dirt and rocks could look like.
So, what you're writing about..capturing those moments with the little ones...I think that's the point..in making a haven or what I call a sanctuarly.
May your day be so filled with His sweet touches. blessings....lylah
The fact you were able to fill out paperwork with little ones around sounds good .
I have enjoyed your series.
Your posts have really inspired me, Crystal.I'm hoping to put some of it into practice next week,as I've been out of action with the flu for most of this week.I'm cheering if I can just wash the dishes and hang out the washing at the moment.
Here's hoping for a more productive week next week.
BTW we are pulling our daughter out of Christian School and homeschooling her next year-Hooray!!
