Day 4 of the Challenge

Since I wasn't as productive yesterday as I'd hoped to be, I woke up with things not as in order as usual, but determined more than ever to work hard today and not get sidetracked on non-important things (as I am prone to do!).

I sat down this morning and read Psalm 68 and 69. I was especially encouraged by chapter 68 verse 19:

"Bless the Lord Who daily loadeth us with benefits..."

Sometimes it is easy to look around us and focus on the negatives and miss out on all the wonderful things God is doing and His kind care in our lives. I was reminded just how much He has blessed us this past year, in spite of many trials. He's been so good and He truly does lavish us with blessings each and every day.

I started reading in my Daily Light, but Kathrynne needed me and then Kaitlynn woke up, so it was on to the rest of our morning routine - exercise, shower and dressed to shoes (including getting both of the girls dressed for the day since they were already up!), and starting a load of laundry.

I was hoping we could manage to do all that in less than an hour and get on with the day. But, the girls seemed especially needy today and so we didn't finish the morning routine until close to lunch time!

After the morning routine was finished, I made out a short to-do list for the day:

1. Finish ALL laundry
2. Clean bathrooms

I decided to keep it short and sweet today as then maybe I'd actually accomplish all of it!

As soon as we were done, we tackled the laundry pile which didn't get finished from yesterday. I finally finished that up, folks, and instead of a bed piled to the ceiling with clean laundry (okay, well, that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it was a whole lot!), we now have a completely clean and made bed with fresh sheets to boot! Oh how nice it feels to not have one speck of laundry sitting out in our room!

While I was working on the laundry, the UPS man showed up with some humongous boxes full of inventory which was back-ordered for orders from our website. Seeing as these were orders which were already late in getting out and most likely for Christmas presents, I wanted to get these out the door as soon as possible.

So I decided to wait on cleaning the bathrooms and put the girls down for their naps and get busy. I ended up spending all afternoon on that project. It seems it always takes longer than I plan. But at least now I'm almost all caught up (Thanks to those of you who have been patiently waiting on your orders to arrive!).

We had dinner and family time, then put Kathrynne down and now Jesse's playing with Kaitlynn while I get a few blog posts finished and then I'm heading to clean up the kitchen and then do a quick-clean of the bathrooms. Thanks again for all your inspiring posts and participating in this challenge. You are such a blessing and motivation to me! And my husband thanks you, too. :)

Has anyone noticed a trend in my challenge posts from the last few days - namely, that I've had a multitude of interruptions and gotten a lot less done than I'd hoped? Such is life sometimes and I hope that my sharing about everyday life will encourage those of you who read here to remember that I'm a mom just like you struggling with the same things you are. We're all learning and growing together!

As an aside: Jesse was kind enough to pick up a camera battery for me tonight so I can start including pictures with my posts again!

Crystal,

It's good for us to hear about the schedules thrown off such. Life is not perfect. There are so many good examples lacking nowadays as to how a mother should be. We all have days like this and sometimes it seems to be everyday.

The Lord has really used my children to help grow me and stretch me. I think of how I'm suppose to be teaching them (and I do), but they have taught me so much.

That was my to-do list! And, uh, I think I'll do it today.

This week has been full of interuptions and unexpected things (like our accident) for me too! It feels good to get at least little milestones done though! I'm glad you aren't letting yourself get distracted! Just "keep moving forward"! That's a quote from "Meet the Robinsons". DH and I got it from the library this week and really enjoyed it. As far as I could tell it doesn't have any of the bad stuff that sometimes get slipped into Disney these days. :)
