Frugal Friday: Freebies at CVS this week
Please note: This will be the last Frugal Friday for 2007. We'll start back up again in January. Thanks so much for all the great tips and ideas you've shared this past year!
I know that most of you know about how you can get lots of free stuff at CVS. It's been awhile since I've highlighted any of the deals on this blog, though, since I usually do a pretty thorough weekly write-up on my other blog. However, this is a week you definitely don't want to miss if you live anywhere near a CVS so I thought I'd mention a few of the great deals here.
Here's some of what you can get free this week:
Free tissues - Use this coupon, a limit of one box free per day.
Free Johnson's baby care products - Use this $2/1 CVS coupon (a limit of one of these coupons per transaction) on items that are $2 or under. Check to see if you have any manufacturer's coupons you can stack with these store coupons.
Free batteries - Use this $5/1 CVS coupon (a limit of one of these coupons per transaction) and stack it with a manufacturer's $1/1 coupon. Many of the battery packs have $1/1 peelies right on them so be sure to check for those! Use your CVS card and buy $15 worth of batteries (that's 3 packs of the $5.29 batteries) and you'll get a $5 Extra Care Buck printed on your receipt which you can use like cash on your next purchase at CVS (there's a limit of one $5 ECB per card). Plus, buy three and you can get this tote bag free. Best of all, if you do multiple transactions, you can stock up on free batteries to last you for quite some time.

I must tell you, I'm having a blast with CVS! This week, I got free Johnson's baby soap and free tissues, and have built up about $15 in ECBs which I will use next week (hopefully the deals will be good next week!) Thanks for helping us newbies out with the ECB program.
And I finally posted my own Frugal Friday today for the first time!
Thanks for the CVS headsup. Merry Christmas!
I printed out battery coupons. Our daughter owns a shower radio and it uses 8 batteries at a time.Every savings helps.
Another frugal tip I just learned-print out the coupons using the 2-4 (depending on how large the coupons are) pages-on-a-page feature in your printer setup.
Thanks for teaching us so much on becoming a better steward with our money! Most people were never taught alot of the basics.
Thanks, Crystal... I've always thought CVS was too complicated to be worth it, but your instructions have emboldened me to give it a try (I already have a card, even!).
I also posted a Frugal Friday about our adventures in lowering our electric bill!
Boy, I wish we had a CVS around here! One of the disadvantages of living in a small town, I guess!! Thanks for all the frugal tips the past months... they've been great!

I hate that we don't have a CVS near by. I would love the free toilet paper, can't have too much of that around! See ya next year!!
Question for you, Crystal:
The tissue coupon clearly says "one per day." But the Johnson's and Energizer coupons say "one per customer." I had heard that with offers like that it was tracked on your card, and you could truly only use it ONCE PER CARD. Can you really use multiples, if you're willing to do separate transactions?
Thank you!
Tiffany, Most all coupons say "one per customer" which in essence means that you can't use the same coupon on the same item in the same transaction. Which means that you can't use a $5/1 coupon on the batteries in one transaction more than once. It is not tracked on your card and you should have no problem using these more than once in multiple transactions. Obviously, you want to be considerate of the cashiers and those waiting in line so I wouldn't suggest you do more than a few transactions in one trip. But if you want to hit CVS more than one day or you have more than one CVS close by, it's definitely worth considering doing these deals more than just once - if you can use or gift the stuff, that is.
Thanks for participating in Freebie Friday.

I love the CVS specials. I'm going to have to pay more attention this week.
I just finally tried the CVS deals and all I can say is WOW! I didn't even do it completely right (gave the coupons in the wrong order and got flustered) and I still purchased around 60$'s worth of products for 16$. And that's not counting the 8$'s in ECB's I have to put towards my next purchase. Woohoo!!!!
(This is not related to the Frugal Friday post.)
I've been wanting to ask your opinion/ experience concerning females only wearing skirts/dresses. I've read your entries addressing modesty and understand that you don't want to define specifics, yet, with little to no experience or understanding of the many communities of women who do embrace the dress/skirt choice, I'm wondering, could you share some insight? (I'm not sure if you do or not, but it seems like you might know more about it than I do at this point.) Who does it? Why? What practical issues arise and how are they addressed (weather, exercise, etc.)? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, Crystal.
thanks Crystal, you are a blessing!

I finally had a chance to post on your last Frugal Friday before the new year!
Thanks so much for the CVS information! I am still struggling with this and Walgreens.
Blessings,
Vickie
Am I the only one with no life that comes on here several times a day to see if Crystal has updated her blog?!
Love both of your blogs!
Your blog is on my list of favorites! Love your godly perspective!
Blessings,
Lea
Thank you for the Frugal Friday. Wish I was in America to take advantage of all that you share on your blog.
Lots of great ideas here!
If only I could find more time this year!
Smiles!
