Making Your Home a Haven Challenge: Day 7
Since I'm a bit behind around here due to Kaitlynn's teething issues, I'm going to keep this challenge short and sweet. In addition to spending some time refreshing your spirit in the Lord, doing your morning routine, making out a simple prioritized to-do list for the day, and preparing dinner by noon, your challenge today is to either:1) Clean out, declutter, and organize a drawer, shelf, or closet.
2) Tackle a project you've been procrastinating on for too long.
Or, you can do both!
If you have time, blog about what you accomplish today including before and after pictures, if you'd like. Leave your link to your blog post below. Let's all inspire one another on to making our homes a haven for our families!

Thanks for continuing to post the challenges even as you have so much going on. They are helping keep me motivated and get more accomplished.
The only suggestions I have for teething are Hyland's teething tablets and Advil or Tylenol. I try to avoid giving pain relievers unless they are truly needed, but if we weren't sleeping more than 30-45 minutes at a time, I would classify that an emergency and at least try a dose at bedtime. I probably wouldn't give it around the clock, though. My children loved Hyland's Teething Tablets. When they were fussy because of teething, I only had to shake the bottle a little bit and they would come to me as fast as their knees and hands could bring them! If they saw a tube of the other stuff, they would go the other way! Teething tablets are homeopathic and work almost instantly. The entire family has used them for sore places in our mouths. I even gave some to a friend who had tooth pain one day at church when he needed to sing a special. He was amazed at how well they worked.
Hope you get some sleep tonight.

I forgot to say that Hyland's Teething Tablets are lactose based so that might be a problem for children with milk allergy or those who are lactose intolerant.
Thought that might be important to some of you, although I'm sure that those of you who deal with these issues always read labels very carefully anyway.

Praying that the teething stage passes quickly. Thank You for posting this challenge. It really has been very convicting to me.
Today's challenge is perfect for me since I always have lots of junky drawers. Today my goal is to get the usual morning routine done, make supper ahead of time, then use the afternoon nap time to organize the desk and bathroom drawers, two "hot spots" in our house. We're having split pea soup and cornbread tonight for supper and I may whip up a pan of brownies to serve for dessert.
I'm jumping into this in the middle here....today is my first day since I only found out about this yesterday. I'm looking forward to continuing, though!
This is so fun- I feel so accountable now since I have put it all out there for the world to see !! That is what we are supposed do for one another! As for the teething, I know it sounds unhealthy but since I did not like giving my girls pain relievers I just went to the store and bought up those freeze popcicles, you know the ones that have the different colors and look like juice until you freeze them.. that worked wonders for an hour or so... Also those teething tablets I heard works wonders...try putting her binky in the freezer and avoid a lot of warm liquids or foods, heat tends to make the gums more sensitve as cool dulls the pain more, also orajel makes teething anaseptic also but I don't know your stand on that. I will be praying for you and we both know that prayer works better than any medicine.
Hope you had a good sleep - reading your blog sure brought back memories both our kids had ear infections heaps as babies - a real hard time for all.
I would take your dd to dr to rule out ear infections as they are quite sore for the little ones.

I love doing these challanges.
I hope we keep this up for as many weeks as it takes to form a habit.
I'm loving it! Are we doing the master bedroom next. I think that needs to be my next daily "project." We'll be out of town the next couple days so I'll be looking forward to checking in when we get home.
I just wanted to say good luck with the teething situation and let you know that I've really enjoyed today's challenges. I even posted pictures on my blog through the day to log my progress on the goals I set. It really kept me motivated!
Hope your daughter is feeling better soon. You'll be in my prayers.
Hi, Crystal! Today I was inspired by your post to tackle the arts and crafts closet in our playroom. What a mess! My little boy was such a help..bringing stacks of paper things out to the recycling bin, throwing other things in the trash, and sticking labels onto containers. What a refreshing improvement! He then wanted to clean the whole playroom, so we spent an hour organizing and cleaning the toys, scrubbing the floor, etc. Wow--it's like a new room! I also went through a couple of other odd ball drawers throughout the house. What an imporvement! I hope at some point we move onto the bedrooms--mine need some help! :)
