Recipe: Pumpkin rolls you can't stop eating

Kathrynne and I made Tammy's pumpkin rolls yesterday. It looked like a delicious, quick, and inexpensive recipe - something I'm always on the lookout for.

The only changes I made to the recipe were to substitute a can of pumpkin for the 2 cups mashed pumpkin. We didn't have any fresh pumpkin so the canned stuff just had to do.

I also used whole-wheat graham flour in place of the wheat germ. I always try to find a similar substitute (if I have one) instead of buying something new. Yes, I know, I'm just weird like that. "Use what you have" is my mantra!

This recipe was definitely pretty easy to make and the ingredients cost hardly anything, but I underestimated just how good the end result would be. These rolls are irresistible, folks, - especially warm right out of the oven with butter melted on them.

I won't even admit how many I've eaten since we finished making them. And Jesse commented repeatedly at dinner at how good they were.

Like so many of Tammy's recipes, this is one that we'll be making over and over and over again. Thanks, Tammy!

Hello Crystal,

Wow! These look delicious. They look less pumpkin-y than I would've thought. I have a few cans of pumpkin that might not make it into a pie-- this would be a good way to use them up.

Thanks,

Trixie

OK. This recipe just won you my vote. Is that ethical to make someone drool on the keyboard when you are in a blog award race? :) Thrifty or not, those rolls are the BOMB. My husband's aunt made sweet potato rolls just like these for Thanksgiving. ;)

Yum! Those look wonderful. I also have a tendency to, *ahem* take more then my fair share of bread fresh out of the oven. :-) There is something that is so satisfying about freshly baked bread.
Maybe that is part of the reason why Christ uses bread as an analogy of Himself!

Hi Crystal,
I've seen you mention a few times that you do pilates for exercise. Would you mind telling us the name of it? I checked our library and there are so many different ones, that I'm a bit overwhelmed with which one would work best for post-pregnancy toning and weight-loss. :-) Thank you!

How funny--I just made these this morning (Tues), though I only made 24 since I had just 1 cup of leftover canned pumpkin.

I agree--best dinner rolls ever! I had a little leftover dough, so I braided it together, and it ended up looking like a mini-Challah. I would have taken a picture, but it's, well...gone. :)

Our favorite recipes from others are mostly from Tammy's Recipes! :)
