I don't think I've ever been more excited about such a small thing
After almost four months of working on it, Kaitlynn's first tooth finally popped through today. My immediate response upon discovering this? A loud whoop and holler and exultant exclamations of "Praise the Lord!"
Yes, folks, I know it might sound like a little exaggerated excitement going on here over the first sighting of Kaitlynn's pearly whites, but if you had lived in this home for the last few months you'd be shouting "Glory! Hallelujah!" along with the rest of us!
I'm not kidding you; I never knew such a tiny thing could create so much pain, so much lost sleep (for both mom and dad and baby!), and require so much Tylenol and Motrin.
Let's hope that the rest of her teeth arrive in a much-smoother fashion. Otherwise, my hair might match the color of her teeth before she even starts working on getting her two-year-old molars.

I know the feeling, Crystal! I had two very hard teethers, one child who gums actually got infected from the teeth trying to come through which is very rare....he had alot of the very rare things happen! Glad you made it through the first tooth!
That is so funny, I felt the same way after my baby (2) would cut a tooth. She is the youngest of 6, I thought I knew everything about cutting teeth until she came along. Some babies have a really hard time with it. Glad to hear she finally cut one and I hope she (you) will have some relief for awhile.
God Bless
Jess~
I feel your pain and can relate to your relief and joy. It can be a tough time for all. My kids seemed to take FOREVER to cut their teeth, especially the first ones. Not that I should have been surprised as my wisdom teeth are still slowly making their way through my gums and I'm almost 34!!!
I feel your pain! My daughter teethed for *8 months* before getting her first tooth. She started teething at 10 weeks. It was awful! My DH referred to her as the "perpetual teether." I'm happy to report that the other teeth have come through *much* easier and faster. Hope it gets easier for y'all, too!
Oh Crystal! I hope the other teeth are easier! Bless her heart... I just discovered two top teeth in my daughter's mouth this morning. She was sick, so I didn't chalk up her crankiness to teething necessarily. Poor thing! The last few days she's been sick AND teething...

Are you the one who found the tooth? 'Cause whoever finds a baby's first tooth has to buy her first pair of shoes, LOL!
My 7 1/2 month old brother just got his 5th tooth. He was an early teether, getting his first tooth at 4 months!
Oh, Crystal, can I ever relate! My poor little Emily (who is just barely 20 mos old) has been cutting her 2-year old mollars for the past 6 days... with no pearly whites in sight yet! :P I am one frazzled, sleepy mama... and yes, I will be shouting praises when that tooth finally makes an appearance!

:) Praise God is right! I remember that stage with my little brother, and boy, can it be hectic at times! :)
May the Lord's blessings fall upon you richly!

That is definitely a Praise the Lord moment. My foster sister is autistic, and her final two permanent teeth are coming in (eye teeth). Every time it hurts her, she tends to get really cranky and throw tantrums, so we'll be joining you in a victory dance when those teeth get in!
