It's Super Tuesday and I'm wondering...

...do you think we'll have a Republican and Democratic nominee by the end of today? If so, who do you think will be on the ticket?

My husband and I are quite anxious to see what the day brings forth and glad that we'll be able to catch some coverage with our "rabbit ears" tonight.

There sure hasn't been much of a dull moment in American politics recently. If only we were able to get super excited about a candidate this year; I'm still holding out hope for a brokered convention and a more conservative candidate to come out of the woodwork before then.

We'll see.

By the way, did you vote today? We usually vote on Super Tuesday, but we're having a caucus (on Saturday) this election instead.

We're for Huckabee!!! What do you think about him? To learn more about him, go to www.mikehuckabee.com or www.exploringhuckabee.com

I think unfortunately they'll be a Republican nominee by tomorrow when all the votes are counted, and it probably will not be the one we're for!

As for the Democrats, I think it'll be awhile before their nominee is set in stone. I'm scared of both of them. lol And it'll be a curse on our country if Hillary wins(of course, we already have women ruling in various areas of our country-i.e. Nancy Palosi, etc., so that right there is already a curse). I'm working on a post right now for my blog about how Biblially, having a woman in rule is a curse on that nation.

I pray that you're having a wonderful day, dear Crystal. Keep up the great work.

The Lord's rich blessings to you,
Rebekah

Ohio's primary isn't until March and the radio talk guys are already predicting a Republican candidate by tomorrow. The talk guys are suggesting IF there is a Repub chosen tonight, that anyone with ties to Cleveland should register for the Dems so Kucinich can't get elected. Interesting...

We're in the middle of nowhere and won't get to De-Kucinich Cleveland.

Ask your husband, what exactly does the law say about a church and/or pastor supporting one candidate or another, please. Our church is caught in a weird gap: we're pacifist so prowar candidates are out. We're conservative so prochoice candidates are out. Doesn't leave many choices... my DH and I end up choosing the lesser of two (or five) evils.

We vote on the 19th...but I'm looking forward to it!

I'm just praying that whoever our president turns out to be ~ that they will fear God and seek His guidance to govern our nation. I'm committed to prayer for our current and future president!

Love your site!

Dear Crystal and All,
Hi! Mike Huckabee was in town this past weekend and I wrote about his speech and visit on my blog.
Thank goodness for Christian politicians like one of our state's(Alabama),Senator Hank Erwin. Sen. Erwin had a show about Mr. Huckabee, from which I got most of my information, as I was unable to attend.
I thought of you today Crystal. I was reading about a lady who delivered twins. While she was pregnant, they discoverd a tumor. The twins kicked the tumor and the body was able to get rid of it without surgery etc, although it seems the doctors were advocating an abortion! I forwrded it to you from the elijahlist.com.
Then over to the right of the corner of the page, there was a story about a new moisturizer that Aldi's manufactures and sells. It beat brands like Helena Rubenstein and Olay nad you KNOW it was much cheaper! Aldi's is now scrambling to keep up! You were the one who told me about Aldis and I thank you and i love it!
God bless you and your sweet family!
I loved your tribute to your darling daughter! How I thank the Lord for women like you and your readers who know the true value of life and celebrate children. What a blessing to read about all the different families that honor the Lord and live to make him known. I always love reading the comments!
God bless you all,
Elaine

Well, we're one of the states that doesn't vote today....I feel left out! *sniff*

I think the Repubs will have a nominee by tomorrow - just hopefully not Romney. He seems like he's hiding something underneath that smug, self-satisfied wolf's smile. McCain wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen...in fact, I'd like to seem on as the nominee. Huckabee, as conservative as he is, is far too polarizing. If he was up against anyone from the Dem party, he'd probably lose. McCain at least gives the Repubs a chance at winning. That being said....
wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, as long as it isn't Hilary. In fact, it is high time a woman at least got a REAL shot and was taken seriously. But Hilary is too polarizing as well. And frankly, I think she's ruined her chance by allowing Bill to get as involved as he has. A Barack Obama nomination is in the Dem party future, and I'll be voting for him come November. Hubby will vote for him too, if McCain doesn't get the nomination. He doesn't care for Romney too much, and massively dislikes the others from the Repub party.

I'll be shocked and massively dismayed if my party nominates Hilary. In fact, I'll cut my registration card up and mail it to headquarters if they do. And then, I'll write Cookie Monster and Elmo in on the ballot, just for the sheer spite of the matter.

We're voting today in AZ. After much prayer I've decided to go with the vote of my husband though we disagree on many things. He's voting for Romney.

My hope for this country does not lie in the presidency and so I'm very uncomfortable and stirred to pray and I pray all we Christians are.

I was supporting Fred Thompson and when he dropped out it left me without anyone I can heartily get behind. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. Indiana doesn't have their primaries until May...and if it isn't settled tonight, I'm sure it'll be settled by the time May rolls around.

Here in Illinois we are voting! I love voting! I don't like McCain. I do like Huckabee, but I feel like a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. Romney is a little too slick, but.... I think he's better than McCain??? I am not too excited about the candidates this year. Huckabee is by far the best, in my opinion.

My husband and I are going to vote tonight as soon as he gets home from work. Unfortunately, we still don't really have peace about who to vote for! We've been praying about it, doing research, and trying to make this decision, but none of the candidates seem quite right.

But we know that God already has someone chosen; whether for the bettering of this nation, or giving it over to its sinful passions, we do not know; but we do know that He is in absolute control.

I think the Republican nominee will be pretty much decided today, although I don't think I'm thrilled about who it's probably going to be. As for the other side? Who knows. I think that messy battle is going to drag on and on.

Oh, I'm so sad about our field of candidates this time. I'm afraid McCain is going to take the nomination but I don't know if we'll know for sure tonight.

We voted for Ron Paul even though he has some policies that give us pause.

When I was handed my "Republican" ballot, I wanted to go back to the table and say, "Excuse me, I asked for a Republican ballot."

I didn't, but I certainly thought about it! Ha!

Just voted for Dr. Paul here in Illinois. First time I've ever voted in a primary, and today I feel proud to be an American.

Harvey and I have been following Ron Paul for over 20 years. He's not a politician by any means -- he's a real statesman, honest and true.

Our caucuses are on Saturday as well and our primary is the 19th. I'll be doing both since republicans in this state choose half of their delegates from each. Not sure who my vote will go to, but I could do two different people if I want...

I'm going for Hunckabbe, next Tusday, but I need to finish researching the other 2 republicans, just to be sure. I hope it's not desided tonight. btw, when rebekah s. posted about woman presidents i going to read it carefully, personaly i would love for Rice to be the Vice President. black. woman. that would really help the Republicans.

My state is not voting today either, Crystal.

I'm sorry to say if McCain ends up being the nominee in the end I will not vote Republican. I am not ready for his statement of perhaps "100 more years of war with Iraq". No way. I think Huckabee would be great but I'm afraid he may not make it.

So I'm leaning towards Obama. If Hillary becomes the Dem nominee, and it's between her and McCain, I will not vote at all - because I sincerely cannot in clear conscience vote just for the sake of voting.

Oh, Crystal! Please, please, PLEASE take a good look at Ron Paul. Coming from Texas (where he was our Congressman), I know from experience that what he says, he DOES. Dr. Paul is a true Statesman, in a land where they are very few! He believes in strict adherance to the Constitution and Biblical principles that our country was founded upon, and what's most important... Dr. Paul loves and strives to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. If you haven't looked into his campaign, please do so! I think you'll be thrilled to find a genuine man of God in Ron Paul.

www.ronpaul2008.com

And I must say, I wish we'd all stick together on this. It's about time that Christians stopped the moan-and-groan "good candidates never win" stuff. What ever happened to trusting the Lord, who has the hearts of ALL rulers in the palm of His hand? We need to fight the good fight, pull our own weight, and vote-- even if it seems hopeless. Independence from the tyrant's heel probably seemed impossible to the Patriots during that winter in Valley Forge! But they fought and died that for the freedom they loved, and the Lord blessed their efforts. And Ron Paul is fighting for that freedom now.

If Americans would stop and see for a moment through the eyes of our Founding Fathers, most of the candidates in this election would never even be considered, let alone be elected to fill the highest office in the land.

May the Lord bless you, Crystal. Thanks for the wonderful, interesting, and God-honoring topics that fill your blog!

I too will be voting with my husband when he gets home. I've been praying between Romney and Huckabee for a while now, also because I'm afraid that a vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain. However, my heart is telling me to vote for Huckabee, and if we all vote for the wrong person just because we want don't want someone else to win, then the person who was TRULY on our hearts to vote for never had a chance!

Hi Crystal!

I'm curious to know what your definition is of a "more conservative candidate"? What positions would a candidate need to hold in order for you to get "super excited" about him? Just curious...

I totally agree with anonymous above. Ron Paul is truly a conservative. One cannot get much more conservative than him.

In a country where evangelical Christians are usually shouting, "Character, character!" Ron Paul's character is beyond question. What he says, he does. Can you say that about the other candidates?

We are also hoping for a brokered convention because we are hoping that Paul does go all the way to the convention.

Even if people don't like his foreign policy (which seems to be the biggest hang-up with him), why not give him a chance? There are still checks and balances in the system. He cannot do massive changes without permission from Congress, nor would he try to. Our country's governmental pendulum has swung too far to "government being the savior of us all." I believe that Ron Paul would give us a nudge in the opposite direction.

All that said, he doesn't stand a chance of getting elected, but I can vote with a clear conscience that I didn't compromise my convictions.

I listened by live stream tonight online. I was not aware that there is a strong possibility of a McCain/Huckabee ticket. I find that highly interesting since I heard that McCain is not a conservative. Perhaps he wants to join forces with Huckabee to appeal to the conservatives? I don't know, just speculation. If so, I think it's a bit of sneaky politics.

It's been frustrating to me, because some who were of great interest to me are out or have no real chance of winning.

I think Obama has a real desire for change & this country really needs it. Of course I wish he had more conservative beliefs, but I also realize that no matter what, people will choose to not follow God, whether there are laws in place or not. These are just my own feelings. Whoever wins we need real change for the people of our country - many are losing homes, jobs, can't afford health insurance, can't make it financially, etc.

My husband and I both voted for Ron Paul yesterday. It has been so frustrating that the media has not given him any coverage. Many people don't know anything about him because he has been pushed to the side at every avenue. However, I think he would be a move in the right direction. If you don't know anything about him, you should check out his issues statement on his webpage: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/

The Republican party has gotten so far off course, it is hard to recognize it. I am scared of what the next few years holds. With the economy and war on the line, Ron Paul seems to hold some of the best possibilities.

Many people have told me that I am throwing my vote away, but if everyone who said that they liked Ron Paul, but he can't win, voted for him anyway, this would be a totally different race! I encourage everyone to vote for the person they think is best, not just who you think can win. That is what our rights as voters is all about!

One thing that is really scary about most of the candidates(other than Huckabee and a couple others) is that they are for having us immediately taken out of the war. This could be so very dangerous for our well being as a country, what with Islamic terroism, Al Qaida, etc.

I'm very happy to see that Huckabee did well last night. I don't think Romney will be doing too well for the rest of the campaigning, because the states he won were: his home state, UT-the Mormon state, and other liberal states. That probably showed that he just can't carry conservative states.

One thing that we have to remember about McCain is that if he is the nominee, granted he's not our perfect candidate, but he would be far better than either Clinton or Obama. So, a vote for him in November is at least a vote agianst the other side.

some peopel seem to think Ron Paul's a good choice. The main difference between him and Huckabee is that Paul is ready to get out of Iraq, Huckabbe isn't.
I personally think if we pulled out now it'd be worse than Vitnam.

it looks like only a few of the ladies that have commented here were for Rommesy to start with, for if you were and haven't voted yet are you going with McCain of Huckabee? And if you are for McCain or Huckabee which one do you think will recieve votes that would have gone to Rommesy? Seeing he is/was pretty consevitive, I'm hoping it will help Huckabee. (in case you didn't know Rommesy is no long in the race.)

if it's McCain-Huckabee do you think they will be able to work togetther well?

What about Alan Keyes. I believe he really is the only good choice for America. He is for life, family values, and the restoration of America. It is very interesting now that Romney dropped out. I feel there are alot of conservatives who will not support Huckabe, McCain or Paul. So who else, no one but the best choice KEYES!!!!! I'm very excited because it seems like maybe he has a chance now, the chance the media would not give him. Be sure to check out his site and prayerfully consider supporting him.

P.S. Thanks for everything you do Crystal!!!

We don't vote until next month here in Texas, which is usually too late to count for anything. This year might be different since the Democratic race is still hot.
