Frugal Friday: Simple, frugal decorating
Wreaths were on sale for $12.99 at JoAnns last week and I had some wiggle room in the home decorating budget, so I splurged and bought one for our fireplace and then added some candles we already had to create a simple and fresh look for Spring and Summer.
It's amazing what a simple thing re-arranging and sprucing up a bit can do to lift your spirits and give your living areas a fresh new look--all at a minimal cost!--------------------

I love it - clean simple lines iwthout a lot of fuss and clutter!
Crystal,
The last two weeks the third column has been covered 2/3 with your right -hand sidebar. Maybe this is just my computer, I don't know!
Thanks for your posts!
Carla
Hi Crystal,
Sorry - I made a mistake with my first Mr. Linky today and had to add a second one to the correct posted. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks
S.B.
Looks great!
Thanks for the tip on the JoAnn's sale! I'm a newlywed who is still trying to gather home decorations within a fixed budget, so I was able to get additional great deals last weekend, including some garden acessories. Thanks for taking the time to share all of these great, cost-saving tips and ideas with all of us!
The wreath is so pretty and I really appreciate all the wonderful money saving tips from everyone!
Blessings,
Liisa
Your fireplace looks great! It really is amazing what a little sprucing up can do for your spirits and the look of your home.
We painted my dining room this past weekend and it looks wonderful. The best thing is that it didn't cost us anything to do since we already had the paint.
beautiful!
I didn't realize there was another Frugal Friday Meme and I started one on my blog!
Great minds think alike, linked over to you from mine as well :)
Your wreath looks lovely! Good choice; you have good taste. I love your mantel!
I love the simple elegance of the decorations. It actually looks like you paid more for it! :) Thanks for sharing! Thanks for hosting!
I messed up my link, too - sorry. I see that it is corrected, though. = )
Nice job, Crystal! Don't you just love fireplaces?
Another tip for decorating is to shop thrift stores. Sometimes you can find brand new decor items, or gorgeous old things that are not made any more. And it's environmentally friendly! (Reuse!)
For those who shop at Jo-Ann's, if you sign up for their mailing list you will receive 40-50% off coupons (off the regular price of an item). I've found that often those coupons are better than their sale prices! And occasionally, you'll get a coupon good for 10-20% off your entire purchase, including sale items! :)

Your wreath is beautiful! You have impeccable taste.
Oh, I am late today! Frugal Friday #3, this is so fun! I have finally posted the tutorial I promised my blog readers at http://www.quiverfullfamily.com/blog about making their own cloth diaper wipes. Even if you BUY cloth diaper wipes you can still save SO very much money! Making your own saves even more :).
I have decided to join in here I hope you don't mind
I like it a lot!!
I'm so sorry for the double-linking! Thanks for all the great tips.
I just added my best Frugal Hacks post! Thanks!
Do you hang pictures on the walls, Crystal? It would look really nice if the rest of the wall is blank, to put a picture of each of your girls on either side of it.
Martha: I personally don't like lots of pictures--they look like clutter to me. I'm trying to hang more of them since I do like pictures of my girls around, but it's going to take time for it to "grow" on me. :)
Hi Crystal!
I love the way you added the pretty wreath above your fireplace. It's simple but very tasteful! Lovely!

I love your new-look fire place :). I also get excited about how easy it is to create a new look just by using what we have, rearranging things, or buying inexpensive things.
Simple but elegant!
