Christian Family Entrepreneurship Seminar--win two tickets!

People sometimes ask me if I do public speaking. Why, of course, I speak in public all the time. Oh, you mean in front of crowds? Not on your life. I have always adamantly avoided anything to do with standing on a stage in front of crowds.

By the grace of God, though, I'm working on doing hard things and stepping out of my comfort zone, so when my husband and I were asked to speak at the Christian Family Entrepreneurship Seminar, I completely surprised my husband by saying I was willing to do it.

I suppose it was the fact that I was asked to speak with my husband gave me a bit more courage; he's a pro at public speaking and I figured he could cover for my grave inexperience. More than that, though, I am really passionate about encouraging families to dream big, work together, and glorify Christ through entrepreneurial pursuits so I couldn't turn down this opportunity--in spite of my fear of public speaking.

The Christian Family Entrepeneurship seminar will be held in Wichita, KS, on Saturday, August 16, 2008. My husband and I will be on a Q&A panel and also doing a mini-session on a practical glimpse into melding family-life and entrepreneurialism and how it works out on a day-to-day basis for us. We'll likely be sharing a lot of what hasn't worked for us and how you can learn from our mistakes, which have been plentiful!

For those who live within driving distance of Wichita, KS, I'd heartily encourage you to consider attending this seminar as I think it will be very beneficial to you and your family (not, for the life of me, because I'm stammering and stuttering speaking, though. You can use that mini-session time for a restroom break!).

Jesse and I were privileged to meet the keynote speaker, Wade Myers, at a conference last year. His love for the Lord and desire to glorify God, as well as his immense knowledge and wealth of practical experience in the business world has been incredibly inspiring to us. I am excited to learn more from him and glean from his wisdom and insight.

Best of all, this seminar is designed to allow lots of time for networking among like-minded Christian families; I'm thoroughly looking forward to that!

PSST! I have two tickets for two seats to give away randomly to one blog reader who lives in the Wichita, KS area or who would be able to make the drive to attend the conference on August 16, 2008. In order to enter to win these, drop me an email (biblicalwomanhood @ sbcglobal . net --remove spaces) by Friday, August 1, 2008. I'll randomly choose a winner and will get in touch with all the entrants to let them know who won.
