Looking for a few good blogs

With the Summer behind us and a somewhat-quieter Fall ahead, I'm looking forward to getting back into a little blog reading. There's only one problem: I don't even know where to start.

The internet is bursting with bloggy goodness and I thought perhaps you all could help streamline my search. I'm especially looking for well-written, eclectic blogs by Christian moms who are in a similar season of life as me and write on topics such as homemaking, homeschooling, mothering, simple living, organization, and healthful living.

So, any suggestions for me? Leave a comment and share the link or links to your favorite blogs or blogs you think I'd enjoy. And don't be shy, if you have a blog and think I'd be interested in checking it out, leave your link, too!

I'm looking forward to finding some new favorites to add to my regular blog-reading list!

This is one you probably already know about but I love Jess at Making Home. She took the summer off and is just now writing again but she writes some really good stuff. http://makinghome.blogspot.com/index.html

I have found some of the blogs I read just by clicking on the comments from biblicalwomanhood. A lot of your readers have great blogs.

I'm getting ready to unveil my newest blog project soon!
Named:

www.NaturallyKnockedUp.com

It'll focus mainly on healthy eating and living as it pertains to fertility.

I hope to have it up and running the beginning of September (it's a bare page now!) but alas, my kiddo has been sick the last week, so I haven't gotten much done. :-) So it may take me an extra week or so to get set up the way I want.

And I'll also be relaunching my blog at Raisingpeanuts.com in the next couple weeks as well. www.raisingpeanuts.com will focus on bringing up healthy, happy children, with a bit of 'green' tossed in. I also plan on doing a series on signing with infants and toddlers as well as what I'll be teaching him in 'school'. (my guy is two)It's also pretty eclectic with a bit of everything I do in my life as well, you know, gardening, cleaning, grocery shopping, sewing, yadda, yadda, yadda!

I also have a few great blogs in my left hand sidebar that are mostly about healthful living and young children.

See you around the bloggy world!

I enjoy http://www.passionatehomemaking.com/

She is young, married to a missionary, into healthy eating. Has a little one younger than yours, is pregnant now and talks like she intends to homeschool.

Feel free to check out mine too, I am a homeschooling mom to 4 boys, I blog about homeschooling, homemaking, my Christian walk. I try to always be upbeat and encouraging. I am not into talking about the "woes" of life but rather into the positives :)

For a strange and different blog I love watching and reading the life of this man trying to become debt free--he has some mean commenters that are really against his steadfast belief in tithing. I am just hoping to soon see him scream that he is debt free. I try to encourage him and know he could us a lot of encouragement from more Christian people. Here is his blog

I also want to "toot the horn" for one of my most creative friends who just started a blog that is BEAUTIFUL and inspirational with all kinds of crafts and ideas for young kids (she has two small girls like you). It's www.blessyourfamily.net

While I blog about all kinds of things from frugal living, Walgreens deals, simple living, family life and pictures, and recipes and crafts, I have found that many ladies have enjoyed my ongoing series' entitled:

May I highly recommend the Afterthoughts blog by Brandy Vencel from CA? She is a young, homeschooling mom of three with one due right around the corner. She writes from a Biblical, Reformed perspective and a love of learning.

As I read your description of what you were looking for in blog reading, hers immediately came to mind. I have been reading it for about a year and come away with so many creative ideas, fresh perspective, and encouragement.

I just love her writing style and she has a variety of topics from gluten-free cooking, health and wellness, homeschooling, child training, book reviews, frugality, theology, and more.

I hope you find it to be encouraging and thought-provoking as I have.

You might've already checked out my blogs, but I'll share what I'm covering right now and you can see if it fits in with your life.

Http://www.heaveninourhomes.blogspot.com has a Character Qualities series on Monday's - sharing on building character in our lives as Christian mothers and wives.

On Wednesday's, Theresa from Faith and Family Books writes on the Proverbs chapter of the day.

On Friday's, I share products I've found useful in my home or with my children, and sometimes they fall into the frugal category as well!!

Then there's http://www.sonbeams.com - with a blog for tips and ideas for teaching preschoolers at home. And on a budget at that!!

I used to teach in a preschool, and had to be on the teacher's budget then. Now, homeschooling my little ones, I'm still on a budget.

Basically, I'll share how to can teach practical lessons with what you have lying around your home.

I'd love to have you join any and all!

I'm a little past your 'stage' - just hitting 30, and having a 4,2,1 year old with another due next spring.

But at times reading your blog - I'm at the same place! Thanks for sharing the honest side of being a mom at times - it's nice to know that others aren't all together all the time too. :)

Have a blessed week!

Our family's blog is about our family of 11 who lives on 20 acres of Texas Hill Country in a 5th Wheel Trailer and a 17'x26' canvas deck tent.

We blog about the happenings at Plymouth Rock Ranch as we seek to develop our property as God provides.

We are learning how to grow more of our own food, animal, vegetable, fruits and berries. The children, ages 25-4 years are all a vital part learning and helping.

We post stories about the weather (which is very important when you live in a trailer and a tent), about our family, our milk goats, our chickens, our cows, our hauling of water and recently drilling a well (yeah!!).

We post about our newest project and our multiple unfinished but in progress projects.

We post about being thrust into self employment with Dad and oldest sons now working together. Dad teaches, apprentices and works, and the boys learn and work in our do-anything handyman, construction, landscape maintenance, warehouse substitutes, surveying apprentices, anything that God brings our way work.

We post Scriptures and how they apply to daily life, home education, large families, lonely socks (you do have lonely socks, don't you?), great resources, such as Vision Forum products, that we love and want to tell everyone about.

The official title is "The Journal of Plymouth Rock Ranch: Recording the Faithfulness and Provision of God for Future Generations."

So, stop on in for a cup of tea. We'd love to have you visit!

One that I didn't see mentioned yet is Leading Little Hearts Home

Rebecca has lots of great ideas about raising girls!

Some of my other favorites include:

Making Home

I'm glad you posed this question to your readers - we're all going to have fun visiting the blogs, too! :)

Lambs In His Arms is full of glimpses into my life as a wife, mother, homemaker, and child of God. I share a relevant Bible verse in every post because God's Word applies to even the seemingly mundane things in life. My blog is still fairly new, so I appreciate your time in stopping by to visit!

My blog is http://thepioneerhomemaker.blogspot.com

I have lots I love blog wise but lately I have been getting into homeschool blogs. And putting the homemaking etc on the side. My kiddos come first and the more interesting I make things the better.

One Child Policy Homeschool

Unplug Your Kids

Crafty Crow

And many others....

We are a homeschooling family of 2 one 11 and one 14 with totally different styles of learning. But they both love learning about everything! So we search alot and I share what we have gleaned on my blog and the kiddos sometimes share on their blog. Plus I am a woman who loves to be out of the ordinary and be different. I love the old ways and love to share what I have learned.

So new to blogging, I couldn't possibly add anything. In fact, I am so new that I can't even make this thing accept my blogger name, MotherMayhem (forgotten password). I just wantd to thank you for asking this question. I am so richly blessed when I read the musings of everyday Christian women and the suggestions given were phenominal!

My absolute favourite blog is Jewel's Eyes of Wonder. She is a great Titus 2 example to me.

I have a few favourites, but if I'm stuck for time, I always check yours and Jewels' first.

My little blog is called Heart Reflections Live, and I'm an Aussie Christian SAHM of 2 girls who I homeschool, and am expecting twin boys in November.

I have found much Christian fellowship and encouragement by reading blogs found by your frugal fridays postings.

I agree with many of the ladies recommendations.

Feel free to stop by my blog, too. I am a Christian SAHM to 3 daughters (7,14,& 21). And prospective foster to adoptive parent. I share my hands-on homeschooling ideas for special needs or any needs children, dietary help for food allergies (GF,CF & other).

It's not a regular blog, but I write a monthly parenting column called "Mommy Musings" at http://www.positivelyfeminine.org/maternal/maternal.htm. I've been writing it for almost two years, so there are lots of past articles to read.

I know you already have tons of comments here and that there are tons of great blogs out there. There are many great suggestions here, that I would have suggest also.

I've recently started blogging and love it! I'm a stay at home mom of 7, but I'm only 25. We just adopted 5 children. We have 2 of our own 4 months and almost 2. Our adopted children are 2, 3, 8, 9 and 13. We started homeschooling when we finalized the adotion, but we would have homeschooled any of our children.

Most of my writing so far has focused on saving money, but lately I have been lead to focus more on us as a family in general (frugality, homeschooling, our story) and our walk with the Lord.

I would be honored if you would even consider reading my blog.

I haven't read all the responses, so forgive me if I duplicate something someone else suggests. :) Here are a few of my favorites:

http://cfhusband.blogspot.com/
This is written by a man named Nate. He is a worship leader at a church on the east coast. His wife Tricia has cystic fibrosis and just had a double lung transplant and is now fighting cancer. However, in the midst of all this, God gave them a miracle child. A daughter born just over 1lb. When all the medical community told them to abort the child because of Tricia's health, they say no and believed God was the giver of life. Their journey has been amazing and inspiring.

http://lockwoodfamily.blogspot.com/
This family has 11 children! They are missionaries in Mexico. I love reading about their adventures and they just have a neat family!

http://jane4girls800dollarannualbudget.blogspot.com/
This lady is doing an $800 annual budget for 4 people. She gets a lot of amazing deals and her frugality inspires me.

Those are my personal favorites. Our blog: www.pursuedbylove.blogspot.com is just about our family life. Nothing too majorly exciting, but fun for all our friends and family back home to keep up with us. :) I'm still working on one for healthy living. I've started it, but it's just not quite what I want yet. :0

Have fun!
